My Crochet Pattern Recommendations

See here for crochet patterns I recommended (especially for market prep), links to their designers, and supplies I use for them.

What Yarns I Use

The yarn I use the most frequently is Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky. This is a weight 6 chenille yarn, and I usually use a 4.5 mm or 5 mm crochet hook with it. Some alternatives that you can use interchangeably are: Hobbii Baby Snuggle, Hobbii Honey Bunny, Hobbii Toucan (sometimes, the texture on this yarn varies more), Paintbox Chenille.

Another yarn I use frequently is Sweet Snuggles Lite from Michael’s. This is the same texture as Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky but is slightly thicker. This yarn is currently not available (June 2025), as I believe Michaels is having manufacturing issues.

A yarn I use occasionally is Big Twist Posh. This is more of a sturdy, blanket yarn texture than the other yarns, but it still creates soft plushies. This yarn is currently not available (June 2025) since Joann’s closed.

If I’m creating something larger, I will use Premier Yarns Parfait XL or Sweet Snuggles from Michaels, which are the same size and texture (therefore interchangeable).

Crocheting Supplies

The crochet hooks I use are from Clover. The one I use the most often is 4.5 mm.

I use polyfill stuffing inside my plushies. I usually get the 10lb box, which lasts me several months.

Safety Eyes I use most:

When I’m having trouble getting safety eyes secured, I use this tool.

This is the yarn winder I use to organize messy skeins of yarn.

Shipping Supplies

I ship most of my plushies in 6×9 inch poly mailers. Inside the mailer, I put the plushie inside an organza bag (small 4×6, medium 5×7, large 6×9) along with a thank you card that I print myself on these business cards. I print my shipping labels with a thermal printer.

Market Supplies

For my markets, I use one 6 ft table and two 4 ft tables under a 10×10 tent. I cover the tables with black spandex tablecloths (4ft, 6ft). I use these chalkboard signs for prices (written with these chalk markers), many of which I’ve hot-glued a clothes pin to the back so it can clip onto my displays. I offer customers a brown paper bag to put their plushies in, which I prep before the market with stickers of my logo that I print on sticker paper and cut with my silhouette.

Displays:

I crocheted my banners using my custom banner pattern.

I made the logo t-shirts that I, my fiancé, and my mom wear at markets with a blank t-shirt from Michaels, iron-on vinyl, and my silhouette.
